We humans are interesting creatures! I know, how-general-of-a-statement-do-you-want-to-make-iamjonnyking!
Because we are interesting, we need leadership to both lead and inspire, to guide and instill, and to live out by example, the potential that we may not initially see, otherwise, the minions are too prone to see the boring in the subject, and not the radical that can become real when you have eyes to see.

All Whites vs Bahrain - I was there!
In other words, leaders by their very living affirm that there is a better way! Leaders may very well be the first to believe!
Ryan Nelsen, Captain of the New Zealand All Whites Soccer/ Futbol team epitomises this reality on the Field of Potential Dreams.
What could well be the personal sporting moment of the year has been to watch, Captain my Captain [Dead Poet's Society - Get it, Watch it], Ryan Nelsen, in the National anthem. He is the type of leader who will walk up to the gates of Sporting Gehenna, and roar, “It shall be Done.” He is the type of leader you would spill blood for, putting your body on the line, giving all for the cause.
Why?
Because you know that he would be one already setting this reality with his own example. Reading that he was only 40% fit for the final match underscores this reality once again. It also affirms how important mental strength, intestinal fortitude, and an unwavering disposition that looks defeat squarly in the face, and says, “You don’t intimidate me, and you won’t break me.”
May he keep it together for another four years, and continue to lead our All Whites, our New Zealand Football team out into battle. Although there will be times when he will be found wanting, it will not be for lack of trying, although there will be times when he will fall short, I know he will get back up again, and again, as long as it takes, and although, many battles will be lost, the war for entrance to the 2014 World Cup will be won
I salute you Ryan Nelsen. You have stood tall, even when you physically were broken. We love that in our sportsmen, we love that in our leaders.
You are my Captain my Captain!!!
Until Next Time
