Now that we have established the raison d’etre for the new and improved #supeRUG Hashtag for this year’s Super season of rugby, we had an idea that we must share.
#RUGcam
Yes, the all-purpose tag to accompany the many images in all of rugby, and as it relates to the rugby before us, #supeRUG on and off the field of play.
Let us explain and exemplify.
However, before we arrive, let us represent one in a New Zealand ambassadorial context that had the embodiment of swag – I did utter that word – for #RUGcam. Few had it in spades like Big Mex.
#RUGcam is one way we can have greater interaction, engagement, and enjoyment, througout this #supeRUG season of 2012.
These are just some ideas as to how to make this more memorable, and we need everyone to join along and help create the ride.
WAYS TO THE USE THE HASHTAG – #RUGcam in #supeRUG
1] For those special, still and moving pictures, of the rugby action on the field of play. The plan is to activate some moving pictures about the moments from each weekend, as well, but this is your chance to add to the flavour. We will be using both #supeRUG & #RUGcam at such times.
2] As an avenue for those who appreciate the physical proportions of the players on the field, while also celebrating the individual personalities watching outside the lines. While there have been other cams in other contexts, we are introducing #RUGcam to cover a world of opportunities for you and your phone.
Ladies, this could be your time in charge of the remote control… TYPO… the remote #RUGcam.
3] With the proliferation of different “farshion” styles and statements by the players, this is an opportunity to take the “RUG” to hairy proportions. Moustache the Beard; to show the business at the front – partae at the Mullet; the tints, the dye, and the styles that make you go all warm and fuzzy!
Celebrate the special creations, or just that special player – Stalker!
While there is more focus, on the field in the television coverage, you can also highlight those kool-aid drinkers watching on, oblivious to the pay-out you are preparing, as you watch on, from the television located in your mother-in-law’s basement. If you are live at the ground; even better. If we can’t get there and you can; you must share as we can’t.
After each weekend, if the Hashtag has moved you, we will post the best pic of the weekend.
4] Use of the “NOT” function. As #RUGcam covers the diversity of rugby contexts, you could also add, “NOT” #supeRUG, to spice up your life, such as the two examples from the Wellington Sevens, affirm.

Prescriptive or Descriptive? Both!
5] For any and all other #Rugby contexts. #RUGcam your world!
6] To record some special character at your club, outing those with radical RUGness happening in one part of your world, even if it is just their exterior coat.
7] Let your creative genius be free and shape the rugby journey with #RUGcam according to your flight or fancy.
#RUGcam – the Hashtag for the person who wants to document something special, on and off the fields of rugby, sharing it with a special group.
