Yes, I confess, the wife and I watched a recorded version of last weeks drama [well, at least they would like to think so], and right near the end, with the new ‘big cheese’, who has taken Jack’s position [with the usual tension in their relationship to add to the... 'drama'], struggling with the reality of the human condition, he speaks with Jack about his experience-to-date, when Jack utters the following line
There is no amount of training that can prepare you for what people are capable of doing to each other.
Such a comment jumped out of the… ‘drama’ on the screen, speaking to the stark reality of the ‘sinful’ tragedy that is ever before us, affirming once again, the universal need not merely for a reformation of one of the constituent parts in creation, but a redemption of the consummate and created whole!
Jack is right!
We have certainly fallen a very, very long way… from Home!
