Prince Charles is definitely one individual I would pay to listen to… maybe if I was deaf [no offense intended to any people hard of hearing, I know, the future King is not my favourite royal either].
Yet, the Prince has stepped up to the plate again, in his function as the Richard Dimbleby lecture deliverer to lead the Crusade again to highlight the need to stop the climate carnage that is about to overtake humanity.
I am Jonny King has affirmed his thoughts on such matters, underscored by the impotently negligent impact that Kyoto, which we are not even close to reaching, will have on reducing the global climate catastrophy.
Kyoto’s limp wristed targets can be further affirmed here by Bjorn Lomborg, who comments on the Waxman-Markey Bill that is working its way through the US system of governance, which is the US answer to meet these demands.
Lomborg affirms the following here,
Even if every Kyoto-obligated country passed its own, duplicate Waxman-Markey bills — which is implausible and would incur significantly higher costs — the global reduction would amount to just 0.22C by the end of this century. The reduction in global temperature would not be measurable in 100 years, yet the cost would be significant and payable now.
Oh, I see… they say that temperatures are going to rise by multiple to double digit degrees [depending on your model of choice], and this is our answer. Spend billions of dollars for what, squat I tell you, squat!
It seems that their answers are akin to trying to stop a Tsunami with a four-by-two. If a family member was dying of a heart attack, you wouldn’t suggest to the Doctor that maybe if he put a band-aid on their wrist, then this would somehow miraculously work. It defies even thinking so, let alone suggesting it.
Then, why do those who push the need to bring about change that will help reduce the climate of change, suggest policies that will in effect make no difference to the actual temperature at all.
Surely, it is logical to suggest that if one truly believes that there is going to be such a seriously legitimate issue for humanity to face in the future, then one would suggest and affirm policies that are consistent and commensurate with solving the issue in question.
This seems to be simply not the case with those who suggest such policy responses in the climate change debate. Credibility lost!
Nevertheless, the Prince has something to tell us…
Prince Charles is talking about no laughing matter, after all, according to Charles in this article here, time is short, for in 96 months we die, or at the very least, the party is over. In his words, we now have only 96 months to save the planet from irreversible damage due to climate change.
Maybe he’s located the expiry date on the bottom of the earth!
Just so you know, Charles went onto affirm that we are not separate from nature – like everything else, we are nature. I guess that is how he knows how long it will be… as he is ‘pantheistically’ part of nature, he must be able to communicate with his kind… how else does one explain such a phenomena!
I guess we are all going to need an Eco-Rapture… could be a profitable way to make some money… could be a good book deal… if all else fails post-96 months, one could very easily just claim that there was a partial Rapture [IamJonnyKing says, as a pre-mill]… very partial, just raptured me, the family, and all the funds, to an island in the sun!
It would be a conscientious decision for one to take you will understand… solar power… thinking of the environment, such a selfless pursuit!
Make the most of your time!
Wonder if Charles will ever be King?
Maybe such a catastrophe could be worth the payoff after all.
Until Next Time
I am Jonny King
