I Hope Uruguay Get Their Hand of Dog Handed to Them!

Yip, that will be the gist of this post.

I don’t know about you, but after Uruguay’s blatant burglary in the quarter-final, it is nearly impossible to find any reason to support their quest for victory over the Netherlands!

Don’t get me wrong, I am not aboard the Netherlands World Cup Express, and while I have pleasant memories of Ruud van Gullit and Marco van Basten, playing what was termed ‘Total Football‘ (if my memory is not on the blink), recent unpleasant realities are obscuring any other motivating factors.

Yes, the sporting realist, call him/her the pragmatist (if it works, do it), will point out that the rules allowed this Uruguayan reality, and while such may be technically true, the way the Uruguayan striker used these rules for his team’s gain, surely highlights the absurdity of the rules, locked in history, which do not take into account a “penalty goal” for such blatant and unsportsmanlike behaviour, which manipulated the result.

Then, after all is said and done on the pitch, to call this goal, the new “hand of god”, and hail the cheater, Luis Suarez as some kind of hero, is off, to the point of being repugnant!

Strong Language Indeed!

The Journalist in the following link said it well, when he titled his piece, Nothing Beautiful About Uruguay’s Game!

What Say You?

I think you are a fool. Any player would have done the same, they are competing in the World Cup! And how could Suarez known Gyan was going to miss? Everyone was pretty sure Uruguay was out, but then Gyan hits the crossbar! Thats why they call it the beautiful game. What’s the point of readin your crap, if you can’t provide an objective approach to what you are saying.
